Description: 
The German Climate and Technology Initiative (Deutsche Klima- und Technologieinitiative, DKTI) is an instrument within the framework of Germany's contribution to international climate finance that has technology focus. The DKTI concept provides incentives for a tighter integration of the scientific community and private sector. The KfW in Serbia established an investment facility, supported by the German DKTI Programme for Serbia, endowed with the €100 million of loan funds to finance switching of 5-7 district heating companies from fossil fuels to bioenergy.
Goal/Aim: 
Support investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect tropical forests (because of their importance as natural carbon stores), and adapt to the consequences of climate change.
