Description: 
The decree aims to adapt the Spanish legal system in terms of evaluation and management of air quality of the Directive 2008/50 / EC, develope the Law 34/2007 on issues related to air quality and simplify the national rules this matter. Regarding the biomass, this decree identifies as new contaminant the fine particles smaller than 2.5 microns (PM2.5). Other developments include measures concentrations of ammonia in traffic areas and agricultural areas, and the rules of sampling points for taking measurements of ozone precursor substances and their sampling techniques.
Goal/Aim: 
Define and establish objectives for air quality, in accordance with Annex III of the Law 34/2007 regarding the concentrations of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and oxides of nitrogen, particulate matter, lead, benzene, carbon monoxide, ozone , arsenic, cadmium, nickel and benzo-pyrene in ambient air. Regulate evaluation, maintenance and improvement of air quality, establishing common methods and assessment criteria, determine the information to the public and the European Commission, and establish specific measures for ammonia.
