A Bill elaborated in order to attain a target of generating twenty percent of total retail sales of electricity in South Carolina from eligible renewable energy resources by December 31, 2022, and for the purposes of increasing the diversity, reliability, public health, and environmental benefits of the energy mix, it is the intent of the General Assembly that the South Carolina Public Service Commission, the South Carolina Public Service Authority, and any electrical cooperative regulated pursuant to Title 33, Chapter 49 implement the South Carolina Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards described in this article.
